I have the most incredible job in the world. I get to share my passion for books and learning with eager, bright students. Along the way I teach library skills, study skills, reading, and character education. I am also a scrapbooker and amateur photographer.

I’m sad to see the name library queen is already in use. I was going to use it for my blog as I have a sign by my office that says “The Queen is not taking an audience today.” I’ve been struggling to think of a catchy name and what to put on my blog, so I’ve just been checking out other school library blogs. You’ve got a nice one going here–keep up the great job!

Hi Mary,
I see that you are a school librarian/reading teacher…do you have certifications for both? My school district in NY is letting go of our elementary librarians and replacing them with teachers who have ‘literacy certifications’. It is a mess. I am considering a reading certificate program at this point. Any info you might have would be great.
Thanks in advance!
